I just had the unfortunate happen and got block from commenting and leaving kudos by an author. I was confused because all I left in my comments was some emoji about have the fic made me feel (🥺👏🥰) Now I feel like I did something wrong. For the first time, even though I was looking forward to reading rest of the works they have up, I feel discouraged in read an author's work.
So I am asking fanfic Writers is it ok to leave emoji comments on your works?
Yes, I love any comments
It's fine they don't bother me
Not the best, but I know it's hard to express with words sometimes
No, I hate them
I am not a writer, but I want to see the answer
Sorry this happened to you, OP. A comment is a comment, folks. As long as there is no unwanted criticism (yes, I do NOT want a comment to say there are grammar mistakes, if you need to tell me in a private message, for heavens sake), that's totally fine. Emojis are a form of communication. Essentially, they're pictograms. And pictograms are used to transport information beyond language. It's really clever, because most of the time in most parts of the world, people will understand your little smiling emoji. So, don't feel bad. It's a comment, and most writers will understand.
